Faculty Presentation at the Detention Center

This is my presentation of information that I found important in the workshops at the Fulbright orientation earlier this summer.  Guest speakers focused on components that make up a globally competent educator, but also focusing on building a globally minded classroom to provide students with the skills they will need for the future.  The competency that I consider to be very important for my own students is the social/emotional component.  If we teach students how to be self-reliant by giving them tools for self-awareness and self-regulation we will be shaping our students into caring, confident adults who will be able to make positive contributions to their families and communities.
